My mom and I had a great time while she was here! It's always so sad when she leaves - really gets me down. I'm very much looking forward to the next visit though - hopefully at the end of June. In addition to the antiquing, having tea at Lady Elegant's, and watching our fill of mysteries (and looking through many decorating books and magazines), we also engaged in a few sewing projects. We each made a cosmetic bag (pattern from "Romantic Home Sewing", pg 44 if you have it). We also each made a little jewelry case (my mom's design), and a sewing needle tool kit wrap from "The French Inspired Home", pg 36. My mom also made a liner for a basket that I have (it holds all of my new sewing goodies that I got for Mother's Day).
The rosette is ribbon sewn around and around, with a rhinestone button in the middle.
I love this fabric - and how it looks with the dark color of the basket.
Thank you Mom for helping me to make so many great things, and for the wonderful basket liner, and all of the amazing gifts that YOU gave ME for Mother's Day (how lucky am I). We sure did have a great time - always hard to go back to the drudgery of work and such a wonderful and relaxing vacation.
