I cannot wait for fall to arrive. Driving my car and thinking about what to prepare for dinner I actually thought chili sounded good. And then I had to remind my self that it is August and it is 95 degrees. Needless to say we did not have chili.

I've got a New Tweed Jacket that I can't wait to wear! of course, with our weather, that could mean January or February...not September or October...

Elise

Oh my gosh! I am sooo ready for Fall too! Looks like we are in good company. Your pumpkin bread recipe sounds similar to mine. Sometimes I go wild and make a crumble topping with brown sugar, butter, flour, and chopped pecans-Heavenly!! Can't wait to see pics of your Fall decor!

Oh how I adore the Fall. I just shiver with anticipation...well, not shiver exactly. How could I shiver in this heat!! Come on Fall!

LOVE that pumpkin bread!

Oh, my goodness I can smell it now, I was doing some cleaning today and found an old vintage pumpkin, and got me in the mood for fall too!!

Thanks for sharing!

I couldn't agree more. I live in western PA. And I have always eagerly anticipated the start of each new season. I think I might make that pumpkin pie today. Thought about doing it yesterday actually and when I saw that you made some bread, I thought why not!

Wow, I am also a September first pull out the fall person!! So glad you are too! I have been watching the calender faithfully all month! See you soon, Lori

Jen

Oh, that's so funny. I wait for Sept 1st too! And I made chocolate chip pumpkin bread this weekend. And muffins. And mini muffins. And mini bundt cakes. It was pumpkin treat bonanza around here. Great minds think alike!

ArtsyMama

Yea, totally ready for fall here. Except I still need to go to the state fair!! I have the same crow in my living room already too:)
Cheers

I love fall but I hang onto parts of summer for as long as possible. I hate to see the periennials and potted plants die. They look amazing right now. In fact, I cover them up if I think a warm spell is coming after the freeze. I miss the hummingbirds too. It will be a long time until they return. Fall is a beautiful time but it is short lived in Mn.

My goodness! I could have written that post myself! I have been itching to wrap things up for a few weeks now. However i have designated Oct. 1st as my official decoration day for fall.(I need a little buffer in between, but am excited to break out the new Halloween ornaments i purchased this summer.)
August is my least favorite month of the year. By now we have gone everywhere and spent every dime. And I won't pick up one more popcicle wrapper off the lawn!

Nancy

Okay, you convinced me! I'm tired of waiting for summer and ready to move right into fall. It's one of my favorite seasons as well for decorating, baking, all the warm colors. And pumpkin bread being one of the best reasons! My favorite recipe is from Mary Englebreit--has chocolate chips in it. So yummy but can hardly wait to try your recipe as well.

mary

Thanks for the inspiration! Reading your post today made me rummage for all my fall accessories: silk flowers in cranberry, cream and and olive tones, bits of vintage wallpaper, brass candlesticks, tarnished old silver, brown transferware, and some treasured pieces of orange carnival glass that belonged to my mom. Yes, I am DEFINITELY ready for fall!

Sandy

Fun visiting your site!
The bread looks SO yummy!

Oh I see your also getting ready to craft for halloween, isnt that just the best about this time of year, we can indulge even more in been creative! Those packs and ribbons are lovely, I wish we had a martha in the uk, she does some really great things.......

Genevieve

I also agree with you, although the transition into Summer and the long days and picnics and barbecues is always exciting at first, by July 4th I'm ready for Fall. The colors, the decorations, the smells, and of course the cool air and beautiful changing trees. I as well have been constantly flipping through all of my Fall related Magazines from years past and I am eagerly awaiting all the October issues to come out, especially Martha. I deffinately need to run over to Michaels and quick before they are sold out, and make some of that yummy pumpkin pie!!

Heather J

I think I'm ready to move on from Summer too. That pumpkin bread looks absolutely delicious.

I stopped by Michaels, myself, and I loved the Martha Halloween silhouettes for windows. Fall/Halloween decorating is so much fun.

I usually don't like fall, because it means winter is just around the corner...But, with the dreadful heat we've had this year, I am soooo ready for cooler temps!
Bring On Autumn Days!

Thanks for the pumpkin bread recipe. That's one of my favorite things topped with cream cheese. Yum!

Kimberly :)

I love your blog. Ths is my first time visiting it and I must agree with you that Sept 1st is the first day of fall!

I love Fall and being the gardner that I am I can not wait to change out my summer flowers as well.

I am going to try your pumpkin bread recipe. I love pumpkin bread! I will let you know how it turns out.

Linda

Oh my goodness...what an absolutely beautiful blog!!! I just read over your posts on the main page and I will definitely be back for more. Your story about your Dad was so touching and I can only imagine the ache you must have for him...to know him. It was a lovely tribute and he looked like a very handsome, family-oriented man...

Your home is certainly lovely, too. We share many of the same "likes" and I, too am counting down the days till I can drag my multitude of seasonal decor out.
Your blog is definitely worth sharing...may I add you to my list of favourites??

Linda
