Allison,
I am not sure if I have commented here before or just lurked about. Either way your blog is regualr reading for me. I love your blog with the beautiful pictures of your home. You are very creative and have given me many ideas for my own home.

I too love mysteries. My favorite genre. I don't have a mystery shelf or collection like you do, but I sure am thinking about it.

Kim

I love book reviews! I'm glad to hear about 'The Art & Craft of Entertaining', because I've been thinking about picking it up.

Hi Allison,
I really enjoyed reading your book reviews, I have a love of books too especially mysteries! I am quite new to decorating books but I like the look of the ones you mentioned. Cook books are also on my list, although mainly cakes! I would love to hear what you think of other books or mysteries you have read.......

Kirsten

Great book selection! I have French Inspired Jewelry myself and have perused Merry and Bright several times while at the bookstore.

And thanks for posting about Clues for Real Life and Not a Girl Detective! I am a huge Nancy Drew fan and didn't realize these two existed. Have you had a chance to read Confessions of a Teenage Sleuth? It's a parody of all things Nancy Drew - great for a laugh :)

Thanks for all the great q&a. I really have to try these candles! I keep thinking about them. I love books and displaying them as well - though my husband just told me today he thinks they look too cluttered humph!

I, too, am going to have to hunt me up some of these 1803 candles. I have Kimberly's book and LOVE it!! I picked it up shortly after it was released, and I read it (well, look at the lovely pictures) very often. If you like lamb, you must try the frenched lamb rack recipe. It's really, really good! It's one of those easy recipes that is still impressive and beautiful for company...or family, too!

Ok, I'm loving the "Modern Country" book you have here...must have one for myself! Thanks for answering the questions...happy to know. I do want to paint the top of my kitchen table black and my set is very similar to yours though my table top is wood tone.

nannykim

Well, I only had time to skim your article; but was it my imagination or have you neglected the Hardy Boys and the Bobsey Twins?

Lori

Great books, great photo in previous post looking across your kitchen towards the windows! I just love the snowy view from such a warm beautiful kitchen!!! Lori

I REALLY enjoy coming to see you at your blog...you post some really neat things...and I love seeing rooms in your pretty home. Keep up the great work.

You know what? I adore that Country Modern book but I'm on a stream-lined cleaned up cottage/country kick right now!

I just found 4 Nancy Drew books in my older daughters room this weekend and took them from her. I realized I've never read one. It's criminal, isn't it?

Linda

Aah, books! You certainly have some good reads ahead of you...makes me want to start one of the books I got for Christmas. Now to just find the time to do so...

I've said this before, but your blog and home is so lovely!!

Hi Allison,
Thanks for the book suggestions, and all of the answers to our burning questions. I love that Merry and Bright book. I got it for Christmas as well.
Have a great day!

I just came across your blog and I wanted to tell you how much I love your style. I will definately be back and I think I will add you to my list of favourite blogs on my own blog!

nannykim

Hmmm--I am confused by your comment section! I (nannykim) was the one who wrote about the Daina Girls and Hardy Boys--but by the way the lines of dots go on the comment section it looks like I wrote the comment below which starts off "Great books, great.... " etc

AAAAH well!!!

Sher's Creative Expressions

Allison, check my post from a few days ago. I talk about the Nell Hill's Christmas At Home by Mary Carol Garrity - - that I bought from a dealer on Amazon. . . got my book for $8.47!!

Blessings,

Sher

Hi, Allie, I've just stocked up on some good books too. This time of year is great for snuggling on the sofa or a cozy chair for a good read. Enjoy!

Hi Allie,

Thanks for the thoughful editorials on these books. I'm very interested in the same types of books as you are, in the same order as you are. I would like to read the book your husband bought you now that I know about it. I've never heard of the series, but they sound fun. So does the Nancy Drew book.

I love how you answered those questions. I wondered about some of those things, but would not have asked them. That was a great way to answer everyone's curiousity.

I hope you and your family are doing well. Take care. Kim.

little freak

great reviews.
