OH! That bike is ca-yute! I can just see you riding around town with your grocery bags sticking out of the top!

What a keeper your hubbie is!

Kina Fink

Love the bike, the gushing about the hubby (more people should:-), and essspeciallllly the BAWAY slippers. Matter of fact, I'm coveting your plaid ones!

Mary

Allie - this is just too funny for words! My very first real bicycle, when I was a 12 year old in England, was a black Raleigh. It was always the best British bicycle manufacturer. My Mother's kind aunt, who lived in Bakersfield, Calif., sent me the money to buy it when I passed critical school exams given in England and called the 11+. Oh how I loved that bike, and how many fabulous miles I pedalled with my best friend Carole through the Devon countryside. I also rode to school every day - just about a mile each way.
That same American aunt was a godsend to my family following World War II - sent monthly food parcels as we were on on rations for so long, also beautiful clothes for my brother and me - actually hand-me-downs from her grandchildren in Calif. We were the talk of the village parading around in American finery - and I can remember several of the dresses I wore down to the last detail, they were so different from anything in England. I first tasted peanut butter (yuck - still have not acquired a taste for that!) and cinnamon hearts - two things I remember from the food parcels.
Before I run must also tell you I bought an old rusty bike from SuzAnna's antiques last week - DH thinks I'm losing it - complete with double carrier on the back, and will be looking for a basket for the handlebars. I plan to paint it purple, fill the carrier with potted plants and lean it up against a tree in the back garden!! Don't you think it will look just perfect?
Love the baway slippers on your little tootsies - your Evie is adorable.
Hope Spring has sprung for you by now!
Hugs, Mary.

SO funny! I always tell my husband that the only way that he is going to get me to go on a bike ride with him is if I can get an old fashioned looking bike, complete with basket & bell!!! I wonder if I can talk him into this one? Does it come in red? That would make it *perfect*!

I also told him that I will only bike on flat surfaces or downhill :)

Meredith

OH. My. Goodness. My first bike was a hunter green Raleigh. I didn't know you could still get them! I'm checking your link asap! I love love love that! Your hubby is a good egg, as my father used to say. I wish I had one too!

Love the slippers. You gals make a fabulously stylish duo!

Lynda

It truly is the little things that end up being the most important ones. Your bike is so sweet (I love the basket) and both your "baway swippers" are adorable!

Rhoda

Both sets of 'baway swippers' are very cute, I really like yours but don't have the kind of feet that look good in that style of shoe unfortunately.

Aina

You really know how to cath my attention!! Love the writing, you are som good in it! And the cute ballet flats, how adorable :) The bike looks like the bikes they use here in Holland. They are well known for the "old grandma" look, if i could call it like that. I love those, makes me feels a little bit nostalgic in a way..I have told my boyfriend that, if we are going to marry i would let our pictures been taken of us riding an old bike. Him in front and me sitting with my legs at one side with a big bucket of wild flowers. Could you picture it in front of you? Well, i have not seen you lately in my blog, maybe because i haven`t had the best posts, hehe..i have a few projects going on, but the time...and the nice weather makes me sit more in the garden enjoying the nice weather than make the pile of unfinished works get done :)
Well, have a nice week and enjoy hopefully nice weather!

Monique

Such lovely pictures. I love those ballerina shoes. I used to walk on them a lot back in the 80's, they were very hip back then too !!!
Your bike is as pretty as a picture and I love that basket. I've got a basket on my bike too and this gave me the idea to make a liner for it, because it doesn't have one !!
Have a great day !!

carolyn

Oh now I feel soo bad, my husband suprised me with a bike a few years ago and I didn't feel at all grateful although I tried not nto show it.

Baway Swippers...that is just too sweet!

What a great bike and a lovely basket. I'm sure you really enjoy riding this bike...I know I would!

Jen

Love your bike, your basket & your baway swippers! I have been planning to blog my bike as well. It will seem oddly familiar to you when I get around to it!

Aina

Hallo again Allison :) Thank you for your visit and all your nice messages. I felt a little bit stupid yesterday when i read one of your messages. Because i did not mean to leave you a bucket full of guild! It was more like an Ironic joke really, i suppose. I was thinking : Where did the sweet girl go? Let`s go and invite her over. And that was my kind of invitation. Eh...it did work, sort of, haha..Well, i know people have a lot of things to do. And it sounds like you have a full agenda! Anyway, loved hearing from you again and as we say here in Holland, " Tot Ziens ", see you soon! Aina :)

Aina
