Steve, Evy, and I were out of town for a long weekend in North Dakota, but we're back and I'm ready to get caught up with you. My grandpa lives in a very small town near Bismarck, ND and we went to see him while my mom was also there visiting. It was NON-stop eating, playing games, hanging out, and watching movies. Seriously, it couldn't have been better. AND, there was a very big cow...named Sue...New Salem Sue. I can feel the envy permeating from the Internet as you all simultaneously think, "I must find this place called New Salem, I must see that cow". Here is a preview.
New Salem Sue...with Grandpa Roman, me, and Evy (Steve and my mom are taking pictures).
A very excited Evy with New Salem Sue
A bit of wheat
And at the end of a busy day of eating, playing games, and visiting with New Salem Sue, it was time to get some shut eye in Grandma's excellent flowered sheets and chenille bedspread - so cute.
The wheat field and close-up pictures are amazing!

Beautiful pics! My grandparents lived in North Dakota! My mom was born and raised there as well. As a kid we drove for two days straight from the east coast to visit them one summer. They lived in Jamestown and also Valley City. My Uncle was a US Marshall in Fargo! I enjoy your blog!

Is there anything in the world cuter than a sleeping child? I don't think so. Not even your giant cow.

Hi Allie - I just looked at your blog for the first time in a while and was very touched by the comments you made on my birthday - what a special gift you are to me. I love you too. Also had to smile when I saw Evy with Salem Sue - I so enjoyed our time together. Glad it worked out for all of us to be in ND at the same time. Love, Mom
