I realized this year that I had a lot of Autumn decorations to put away. I guess that happens when you find new treasures every year, and I certainly always seem to do that. I started putting Christmas decorations up this weekend - spruce tips in the window boxes, wreaths hung from doors and windows, knick-knacks positioned, the tree cut and placed in the living room. Wait till you see the Christmas tree (it's one that was on our property). Let me just say that it's unique...and has character. I like it, but it isn't your typical cone-shaped tree. It's more of a free spirit you might say. More to come later on the tree. For now I wanted to share an arrangement I put together in our foyer. I used a silver ice bucket as the base. I added a large spruce tip for the center, and white pine and cedar bows around the edge. I used pheasant feathers to embellish, and added a little nest and bird ornament for affect. Flanking the tree are my two riding helmets. Not sure why the ice bucket looks dark - it's a light silver color. Bah...lighting.
This is a little silver tree that I got from Traditions. I bought one for Evy to have in her room. The star on top is from Bayberry Cove.
More to come very soon. I hope you are all well my friends!
I think this foyer arrangement is just beautiful. I found your blog a few days ago and must say I adore it. I look forward to borrowing inspiration from you. I had a lot of fall decor to get put away myself and now find my house in shreds:-(. Need to keep reminding myself in a few days it will be lovely...Thanks for the Christmas inspiration! I love tinsel trees too!

well , that decoration reminded me of what we saw this year at the historical socities (sp?????) house. They used a lot of those feathers in their decorations....even on their trees.

Cute display in your entry way. I love the riding hats. I started my decorating this weekend to, but just made a dent! I too had lots of fall to put away and I feel a little overwhelmed with it all, but will love it when it comes together. I can't wait to see more pix of your house!

Love the tree in the ice bucket. I have an ice bucket exactly like that. Great idea. Nice job arranging it too. When I see horses, riding gear, etc., I think of plaids. I would put plaid bows in that tree. . . maybe because I'm English and Scottish?
Blessings,

I love it, nice and natural! can't wait to see your tree! it sounds like the kind of tree I would want...not perfectly shaped, like you just chopped it down, you can't find trees like that at tree lots...believe me I have looked.

I love that arrangement Allie and can't wait to see your special tree! Note on my post today that I want my ice bucket to look tarnished and dark like in your photo!!
Hope to get some decorations up this week - time is going by too fast.

I love your floral arrangement!
It would look equally nice during the month of January or even November with some fall leaves tossed into the mix.
I found a star just like yours at the thrift store, today for 50 cents. I had no idea that it had come from Bayberry Cove, although it still did have the tag attached. I couldn't imagine someone giving it away.
